Queer First-Gen Mixed-Race Performer

Kai has performed with La Jolla Playhouse, California Center for the Arts Escondido, Synecdoche Works, The Dramatists Guild of America, Seven Devils Playwrights Foundry, Feinstein's/54 Below, The Tank NYC, Green Room 42, and beyond! In the summer of 2022, Kai closed the world premiere musical Witnesses, originating the role of Moshe Flinker - singing the songs of Richard Rodgers Award winner Adam Gwon with direction by Broadway’s J. Scott Lapp, and a book by Tony-Winner Robert L. Freedman.

RECENTLY: Closed Shakespeare’s As You Like It, featuring an all Queer/Trans/Non-Binary cast at La Jolla Playhouse! This production was directed by Tony-Award Winner Christopher Ashley and Hayes-Award Winner Will Davis!


Kai also originated the role of Guildford in a workshop of Jane The Queen: A Tudor Musical and acted opposite Jason Tam, Troy Leigh-Anne Johnson, and Badia Farha in a reading of a new play, both performed at The Dramatists Guild of America. Kai also finished a reading/workshop playing Lily Evangelion in A Faerie Tale of New York by Enid Brain. This new play won the Special Jury Prize for the Frank Moffet Mosier Fellowship at Synecdoche Works. 

This spring, Kai originated the role of Roderick/The Stranger in Edgar Allan ShitPoeSt at The Tank NYC! They also have a priority feature in the music video for the new musical SUPERYOU - which has been produced regionally in the USA and in-concert on the UK’s West End.

CURRENTLY: Kai was a resident actor with Seven Devils Playwrights Foundry in McCall, Idaho workshopping two new plays - Beautiful Blessed Child by Daria Miyeko Marinelli (dir. by Reena Dutt) and Anti-Hero: Revenge of the Swifties by Derick Edgren Otero (dir. by Carol Ann “Cat” Tan/David A. Miller)
